Incorporating what was the NERC Airborne Research Facility Data Analysis Node, NEODAAS use software developed in-house to process airborne hyperspectral, thermal, LiDAR and digital photography data from the suite of instruments managed by the National Centre for Earth Observation (NCEO).
Data from the NERC Airborne Research Facility (NERC-ARF), formerly the NERC Airborne Research and Survey Facility (NERC-ARSF) were processed at Plymouth Marine Laboratory between 2007 – 2018 as the NERC-ARF Data Analysis Node (NERC-ARF-DAN). After a restructuring of NERC services and facilities, the King's College London node of NCEO manage airborne remote sensing national capability with processing being carried out by NEODAAS.
Data processing
We are able to offer data processing for new flight campaigns, such as the join NASA-JPL and NERC-NCEO campaign in summer 2019 where the NCEO Specim Fenix was flown alongside JPL’s HyTES instrument. https://www.ukri.org/news/thermal-imagers-fly-over-uk/
Helpdesk
A large amount of historic airborne data is available from CEDA, we are able to offer support with using these data. Through the NEODAAS custom data requests system we are also able to offer additional processing (e.g., atmospheric correction) to researchers eligible for NERC funding. Please contact us for more details on the application procedure.
